Number 3 stumped the pundits, until the US Navy knocked down a falling spy satellite travelling at 18,000 mph with a Mach 7 missile. The US hadn’t attempted such a test since 1985 and once again Americans had achieved the impossible in getting the Pentagon to built something that actually works.
“The Russians got the message loud and clear. The USA is back.” A Fox News contributor crowed on a defense segment without mentioning that we have only two missiles left to counter over 1500 ICBMs in the Russki arsenal. Still it was a good day for the Pentagon and GW Bush. His smile promised the world that these missiles will only be used for humanitarian purposes such as destroying errant comets or invading UFOs from Communist Mars.
