Welkom Inn Demise Pattaya

I was sitting with Pierrot at the Welkom Inn’s exterior bar enjoying a cold beer. The garden glowed with the setting sun’s golden retouch, the girls sat in a languid greeting gauntlet at the door, and Meow was promising sawan or heaven with a visit to the back room.

“I love this place.” 600 baht and 200 for the room.

“Love it now, becuase it’s not going to be her forever,” Pierrot said in French. “Marc is not well and once he goes, the owner will raze the hotel, bar, and garden to build a 7 story hotel.”

“No.” Nothing in this world is sacred.

“Everything has its time.”

“But the end to the Welkom.”

The website www.welkominnthailand.com is no longer active.

Tragiquement, ouais.”

I was introduced to the Welkom by David baruch, who waddled from his Soi 1 condo to the short-time bar every afternoon. “For a joint and a massage. I call it therapy.”

The Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital killed him on a check-up visit and i only go to the Welkom for any medical examinations. The girls have seen enough naked men to know if you are feeling naughty, nice, or not well, but where will we go once the Belgian Embassy or Chapelle as Fabo calls the venerable establishment closes its doors?

Soi 6 is not the answer.

And I have no idea what is, so until then I’ll ride my bike down to the Welkom.

Chek bin, krup.” Who was I to refuse Meow’s offer of heaven on earth?
She was 23. Her lesbian girlfiend was working at the hotle. She showed a blind eye to Meow’s working tricks. Meow said she was never jealous, but I had seen Meow with a black eye. It hadn’t come from a man and certainly not God.
