Last Friday I helped a friend film the UN Women for Peace March. The weather was sloppy snow and the pavement of Dag Hammarskold was wet under foot, but hundreds of women and a few men trudged across 1st Avenue from the UN Building to hear speeches.
The first speakers addressed the surge of violence against the women of the world.
Actress Susan Sarandon read a special message from Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani girl shot by extremists angered by her attending school.
I searched the internet for this letter without finding a single word, but I recalled coming close to tears thinking about the madness men visit on people and vow to be a better person in the years to come.
Peace is the answer.
