Retired Thai General Khattiya “Seh Daeng” Sawatdiphol has been supporting the ‘red shirt’ rebellion in Bangkok. His presence creates fear amongst the ranks of the army officers pitted against the Thaksin backers, for the General has terrifying reputation for coldblooded violence dating back the the Vietnam War when he led Thai rangers against the Pathet Lao for the CIA. He once infiltrated the separatist rebels of Banda Aceh for the Indonesian government. No joke “Seh Daeng’. He came into difficulties with his superiors over an immense illegal gambling project in Bangkok. The general sued his detractors and then retired from the military at full pension to avoid his re-assignment as an aerobics instructor for the troops.
“The army chief wants me to be a presenter leading aerobics dancers. I have prepared one dance. It’s called the ‘throwing-a-hand-grenade’ dance.”
Richard Erlich of the Asia Times portrayed the menace of the commie-killer to the government in a recent article, stating that ‘Major General Khattiya “Seh Daeng” Sawatdiphol is one of the biggest reasons the government and military are afraid to attack the red shirts’ barricades and clear them from Bangkok’s streets.’
Killers scare everyone and few westerners visiting Thailand ever see the profound viciousness hidden behind the mask of smiles. The general’s ‘ronin warriors’ are out for blood. The Old Roue sees them every day on the Silom Road.
“Mafia thugs.”
And for the Thai people the greatest mafia is not the criminal, but the police and the police are backing Thaksin since he is one of their own. ‘Seh Daeng has no respect for his former comrades.”
“The tactics you are supposed to use are to fight early in the morning, or during daylight hours, not at night. But the army acts with homosexual emotions. I only want to fight with peaceful means.”
Huh?
I know what that means in plain language.
“Kill them all.”
