In George We Trust

Gilbert Stuart’s portrait of George Washington has graced the $1 bill since 1869 replacing Samuel Chase, the Secretary of the Treasury under President Abraham Lincoln.

The motto ‘In God We Trust’ appeared on the single in 1955.

In my life the dollar was been accepted everywhere as the world currency, but in the 1990s and 2000s Americans placed their trust in the concept of universal wealth under the aegis of Bernie Madoff.

Not any more.

So it’s back to George, since I don’t believe in God.

Just call me an atheist.

I’m happier that way.
