Yesterday I was standing on the banks of the Saco River in Steep Falls Maine. This was as far from Thailand as I’ll get this year. My sister and brother-in-law have been asking when I was heading back to see my families. I haven’t an answer for them or myself this weekend. My bank accounts are empty. I owe the credit cards a fortune, and my residence options for the future are limited to the kindness of friends in a very desperate time.
“What will you do?” Karl Malden asked for American Express.
I’m heading to New York.
If I can make it there, then I can make it anywhere.
Stay tuned.
