Two are better than one in Phnom Penh

Solomon never had to judge on the question of one man marrying more than one wife because he had a harem, but in modern times bigamy has a negative connotation to most societies outside of Saudi Arabia and Southern Utah. A Cambodian man was bucked his country’s regard for multiple wives by marrying his current and ex- girlfriends, obviously inspired by Barry White’s hit song NEVER CAN SAY GOOD-BYE.

Bou Samanak’s wedding to Ly Nary, 21, and Choy Chanthu, 20 made the front page of the Phnom Penh newspapers. Both families stayed away from the ceremony. The groom understood their feelings and then explained, ‘Although I am happy to take both, my life now will be one of a lot of hard work to keep them happy.’

While this marriage is technically against the law, the police can not arrest the husband, unless a wife files a complaint and neither had before their honeymoon departure for Sihanoukville. Menage a trois marriage and I guess he has to sleep int he middle of the bed.

Ah, I love these modern times.
