Youtubes ban on Thailand internet

Over the weekend several web blogs reported youtubes.com had been blocked access in Thailand. I never had any problems, then again I don’t check the site often since Viacom exiled Jon Stewart from the viewing public.

Reasons for ban in Thailand range from insulting Buddha or criticizing the government or showing sex pictures of any combination of the above.

Come to think about it that’s about the same in the USA, if you trade Buddha for Christ.

The 10 most censored countries in the world are North Korea, Eritrea, Cuba, Uzbekistan, Syria, Belarus, Burma, Turkmenistan, Equatorial Guinea, and Libya.

See http://www.cpj.org/censored/censored_06.html

Thailand ends up at #122 according to reporters sans Frontier while the USA is 53 within the States. 112 in its territories. Then again you’re free to say whatever you want in America as long as it doesn’t mean anything.

Blah blah blah will always be protected by the 1st Amendment.
